I'm Jer, short for Jeremy. I began pursuing photography in 2004 and graduated with a BA in Photography from Indiana Wesleyan University in early 2009.
I have experience in all areas of photography, but work mostly in contemporary wedding and personal portraiture because it is what I love to do. I hope you see my passion for people in my photographs. Take a look around, enjoy yourself. Feel free to smile, laugh, and enjoy the images.
I'm glad you've visited.

ABOUT ME
Hi there!
My name is Jer and I am really passionate about a few things. Before anything else, the reason that I live is because of the risen Christ. I don't try to overemotionalize it or use it to hurt people, but it is a work within me and the reason I can pursue my passions without perpetually being worried about failure. I follow His will and He promises to provide. If you ever want to ask me about my story, please email me or leave me a message -- I would love to talk to you.
I love photography. I have been a student studying all aspects of photography for four years and hope to continue on to get my MFA and eventually become a professor of photography. I have 300+ hours of darkroom experience, 55 hours of color development and processing, 100 hours of contemporary technique and 1200 hours of digital. That's a lot of hours, but well worth it.
MY STYLE
Almost photographer believes that their style is the ultimate and highest style that there is. There are purists, effects-junkies and every step in between.
My style, plainly put, is whatever it takes to tell the story. From crisp color to vintage, my goal is to help you forget you're looking at a photo and allow you to feel as if you're reading a really great story. That's what it's all about, right?
When I photograph, I've got a plan - I'm laying chapters of the story in as I work.
CONSULTATION AND BOOKING
If you have never had a session with us before, you may be wondering how the process works. When you contact us, we will discuss the type of portrait session you are interested in, even setting up an in-person consultation to make sure we understand your desires before you book your session. We ask that you take time to familiarize yourself with our website and blog to get a good feel of our style. When you are ready to book your session, we will provide you with a paper or digital version of our Portrait Agreement. Your session fees are due on booking and are a nonrefundable deposit to hold your session time. If we do not receive payment, we cannot hold your session time.
YOUR SESSION
A typical session lasts between one and two hours, and is photographed outside or at a location we decide on. The one to two hours includes both outfit and location changes. We use both natural and studio light, but always prefer natural light. Morning (7am-9:30am) and evening (6:30pm-8:30pm) are great times for sessions outside that have a bit more soft, even light. Midday (11am-3:30pm) is the perfect time for photos indoors or in the shade. Overcast days are wonderful days for photographs. Please make sure any young children are fed and well rested. As you think about booking your session time, please consider having your session at a time that works with your child's natural routine. After a meal and after nap time is always a wonderful choice.
When it comes time to choose what you will wear during your session, keep in mind you make the photos, not your clothes! Make sure to wear something comfortable and that you would normally wear. Solid colors are always a good choice to best draw attention to your face and show you off. As you prepare yourself for your session, consider leaving time before your session for hair, makeup and outfit choices. Clean hair, fresh makeup and an outfit you enjoy wearing make you feel the best for your session.
The images from your session will be available between 1-2 weeks after you are photographed, although 2-3 days is a typical wait. A password-protected gallery of images will be made available for you online to view for two weeks. If you wish to view your images in person, we will be more than willing to set up a viewing and ordering session. We have design guides and suggestions to help you arrange any image displays for rooms in your home. There is a ten percent discount on all images ordered within a week of your session. We accept cash, check and credit cards, and a full payment is due upon placing your order.
We offer a wide array of products to help you get the most out of your images. All prints are developed on photographic paper and are available 1 to 3 weeks after ordering. As opposed to inkjet inks and paper our photographic prints are archival for well over a hundred years if displayed indoors and will not fade like inkjet or 'one hour' prints. We mat and frame prints on request, but ask that you add an extra week to your order to accommodate the matting and framing process. We also offer albums, gallery wraps and a DVD of your images for sale.
Thank you so much for your interest in a session with us. We hope to speak to you soon!
